We Stand with Breast Cancer Survivors

October is a month normally associated with orange and black. After all, Halloween looms large at the end of it and the spooktacular candy, costumes, and decor are hard to escape during this time of year. However, October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month, and so at Canna4Life, in October we wear pink.

Cancer & Cannabis

The link between cannabis and cancer is obvious. Many patients use medical cannabis to manage their pain during treatment. And, according to researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, new research has emerged revealing that cannabis is much safer for pain management in people over 65 than opioids.

What’s even more interesting is that there have been several intriguing studies that indicate that cannabis may have a more significant role to play in fighting cancer than previously thought. More research is needed, but the studies that are being done both here and abroad (though let’s be honest, mostly abroad) show some very interesting results.

Supporting Our Community

Cancer is a clear and present blight on our society. According to the Scientific American, in 2017 there were more than 1.6 million diagnosed cases of cancer, and that number is expected to rise by 50% by the year 2030. Clearly, something must be done to stop this terrible scourge. That’s why we’re proud to support the Gina Quesenberry Foundation whose goal is to provide financial assistance through donations and fundraising activities to breast cancer patients in need.

The foundation was established in memory of Gina, whose life touched many people with her joy and support. By helping other women with cancer, the foundation honors Gina and her purpose for life. The Gina Quesenberry Foundation is an important resource in our area, and we’re happy to support them both this month and every month, and we hope that you’ll consider supporting them as well.
